Built 600 years before the Great Pyramid of Giza, Ireland's Newgrange monument features a precision-engineered roof box that captures the winter solstice sunrise to illuminate a 5,000-year-old ritual chamber.

Deep within the Boyne Valley, the Neolithic passage tomb of Newgrange stands as a testament to prehistoric structural engineering. Built around 3200 BCE, this massive mound spans 3,000 square meters and is reinforced by 97 intricately carved kerbstones. The site's most remarkable feature is a small opening called a 'roof box' located above the entrance.
