A deep ravine in Ukraine became the site of a horrific massacre in 1941, where over 15,000 Jewish people were murdered by Nazi forces during the occupation of Kharkiv.

In December 1941, German troops and local collaborators began the systematic execution of the Jewish population in Kharkiv at a ravine called Drobytsky Yar. Over the course of several weeks, more than 15,000 people were killed and buried in mass graves. This event was a devastating chapter of the 'Holocaust by Bullets' across Eastern Europe.
