Sound sensors detect gas leaks faster than chemical monitors

Traditional sensors must wait for gas to drift into their reach, but acoustic cameras can hear the ultrasonic hiss of a leak from 200 meters away.

In high risk industrial environments like semiconductor factories, detecting a gas leak quickly is the difference between a minor incident and a catastrophe. Traditional safety systems rely on concentration based sensors that wait for gas molecules to physically reach the device. This process is often delayed by ventilation fans that pull air away from the sensors, meaning it can take several minutes for a leak to be identified.
