Dark personality traits are linked to smaller brain regions
Men with high levels of narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism possess less gray matter in areas of the brain that govern social judgment and emotional control.
The dark triad is a cluster of three antisocial personality traits: narcissism, which involves self-importance; Machiavellianism, characterized by the manipulation of others; and psychopathy, defined by a lack of remorse. While these traits are often measured through behavioral surveys, they are also reflected in the physical structure of the brain. Men who score high in these areas tend to have a lower volume of gray matter in specific regions compared to those with lower scores.
