Humans have a natural bias for turning left
Whether navigating a crowded room or waiting in a queue, people across the globe consistently choose to rotate in a counterclockwise direction.
Physicists at the University of Navarra uncovered a hidden human instinct while observing how people maintain social distancing in lines. When participants needed to change direction or turn around, they almost always rotated to the left. This counterclockwise preference is so consistent that it overrides other physical traits, appearing regardless of whether a person is left handed or right handed.
