In an event known as the Miracle at Gottrora, a Scandinavian Airlines flight crashed and broke into three pieces in 1991, yet remarkably all 129 people on board survived the ordeal.

On December 27, 1991, Scandinavian Airlines System Flight 751 experienced dual engine failure just moments after takeoff from Stockholm. Clear ice had broken off the wings and was sucked into the engines, causing them to stall. With no power, the pilots performed a masterful emergency landing in a snowy field in Gottrora.
