New species of frogs with tiny bone fangs were just discovered in Borneo

Researchers in the rainforests of Borneo have identified Limnonectes phyllofolia, a miniature fanged frog that uniquely guards its eggs on land rather than in the water.

Scientists recently identified a new species of fanged frog in Borneo that is remarkably small, measuring roughly the size of a quarter. Unlike most frogs that lay eggs in water, these tiny creatures deposit their offspring on leaves or mossy boulders.
