Arrokoth is a primitive contact binary located in the Kuiper Belt that resembles a reddish snowman, serving as a pristine time capsule from the dawn of our solar system.

Located four billion miles from the Sun, the icy object known as Arrokoth consists of two distinct lobes joined by a narrow neck. This unique shape formed when two separate icy bodies gently collided at low speeds billions of years ago. Unlike objects in the inner solar system, Arrokoth has remained largely undisturbed by heat or collisions.
