Glaciers are melting at an alarming rate
Human-caused global warming is rapidly melting glaciers, threatening vital water supplies, raising sea levels, and impacting ecosystems worldwide, demanding urgent action.
Massive rivers of ice, called glaciers, are disappearing faster than ever before due to global warming. Human activities, like burning fossil fuels, trap heat in our atmosphere, causing average temperatures to rise. This means longer, hotter summers and less snowfall, accelerating meltwater runoff. Between 1991 and 2010, glaciers lost about 110 billion tons of ice annually, a figure that has since escalated.
