An Italian farmer built a house from handmade tiles

In the small Italian village of San Giorgio di Lomellina, a farmer named Luciano Serpentello spent years of his life turning a simple residence into a sprawling work of ceramic art. Known as La Casa del Serpentello, the building is defined by its lack of symmetry and its dense covering of handcrafted tiles. Every single piece on the facade was personally designed and fired by Serpentello, who had no formal training in architecture or the fine arts.
