A cricket match can end in under 1,000 balls
When the grass at Lord's became too unpredictable for batsmen, a five day international contest collapsed into a sprint that lasted less than half its scheduled time.
In the traditional format of cricket, a Test match is designed to last up to five days, providing enough time for both teams to complete two full innings of batting and bowling. However, when the playing surface is significantly skewed in favor of the bowlers, the strategic endurance of the game collapses. At a match at Lord's, the conditions were so extreme that the game concluded in fewer than 1,000 legal balls bowled in total.
