Ukraine can strike targets over 1,000 kilometers away
While modern warfare often focuses on front lines, long range drones are now reaching deep into Russian territory to hit naval bases and energy infrastructure.
The reach of modern drone technology has fundamentally altered the geography of conflict. During a high profile economic forum in St. Petersburg, a wave of over 140 unmanned aircraft targeted the surrounding Leningrad region. This operation demonstrated that small, relatively inexpensive drones can now travel 1,000 kilometers from their launch points to strike strategic maritime outposts like the Kronstadt naval base, a primary hub for the Russian Baltic Fleet.
