Some dinosaurs had better vision than modern raptors

Ancient predators in Thailand possessed eyes so powerful they could track prey with 30 degrees of overlapping vision, outclassing many of today's sharpest birds.

The Siamraptor, a massive predator that stalked prehistoric Thailand 130 million years ago, was built for high-speed precision. While most dinosaurs relied on a wide field of view to spot movement, CT scans of this creature's braincase reveal an expanded optic tectum—the brain's visual processing center. This allowed it to achieve a 30-degree binocular overlap, giving it a depth perception more refined than that of a modern hawk.
