Your bone marrow produces two hundred billion red blood cells every single day

The red bone marrow is a high-volume biological factory that produces an astonishing 200 billion new red blood cells every day to keep the body oxygenated.

Located primarily in the flat bones like the pelvis and sternum, red bone marrow contains hematopoietic stem cells that are the source of all blood components. To maintain a healthy count, the marrow must produce 2.4 million red cells every second, a process stimulated by the hormone erythropoietin from the kidneys.
