Kiribati stands as the only nation on Earth with territory spanning the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Hemispheres, thanks to its vast collection of coral atolls scattered across the Pacific Ocean.
Kiribati achieves this unique geographic distinction because its thirty-three islands straddle both the equator and the 180th meridian. While the country has a total land area of only 811 square kilometers, its islands are dispersed across 3.5 million square kilometers of ocean.
