A single protein could be the key to turning back the clock on aging brains

Researchers have identified a blood protein called PF4 that appears to rejuvenate cognitive function by physically mimicking the neurological benefits found in young blood, exercise, and longevity hormones.

Platelet factor 4, or PF4, acts as a powerful messenger that can actually reverse signs of cognitive decline in aging mice. This specific protein communicates with the immune system to calm inflammation in the brain and improve synaptic plasticity.
