Believe it or not, the very first computer mouse was crafted from wood! In 1964, engineer Douglas Engelbart and his colleague Bill English developed this pioneering device at the Stanford Research Institute. Roughly the size of a cigarette pack, it featured two metal wheels for movement detection and a single button.
