Plants breathe out the air we need to live

Plants perform photosynthesis, using sunlight and chlorophyll to transform carbon dioxide and water into energy, releasing the essential oxygen that sustains all life on Earth.

Plants are nature's air purifiers, using a process called photosynthesis to create the oxygen we breathe. Chlorophyll, the green pigment in leaves, captures sunlight's energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into sugar for the plant and oxygen as a byproduct. This vital oxygen is then released through tiny pores on their leaves. This ancient process, perfected over billions of years, not only sustains life but also helps regulate our climate by absorbing carbon dioxide, playing a crucial role in mitigating global warming. Terrestrial plants and ocean algae produce an astonishing 50 to 80 percent of Earth's oxygen.
