Mount Everest is highest above sea level, but Mauna Kea is taller from base to summit, and Chimborazo is furthest from Earth's center.

While Mount Everest is the highest peak above sea level at 8,849 meters, it's surprisingly not the tallest mountain overall! Hawaii's Mauna Kea stretches an incredible 10,210 meters from its base on the ocean floor to its summit, with most of its mass hidden underwater.
