Africa is vastly larger than maps suggest, big enough to fit the USA, China, India, Japan, and most of Europe inside its borders, challenging common perceptions.

Africa is far larger than it appears on most world maps! This is because the common Mercator projection distorts sizes, making landmasses near the equator seem smaller. In reality, Africa's 30.37 million km² area is vast enough to contain the United States, China, India, Japan, and most of Europe combined.
